Hundreds of queer people gathered in a club, a place where they were safe from hate for just a few hours. A place they didn’t have to fear dancing with someone they found attractive, where they were accepted for who they were.
That club in Orland was a safe haven, a place where the homophobia that these people were exposed to during the day was forgotten.
And a person with a shallow heart took that one place from them, he stole that safety not only of the patrons there, but all of the queer people around the world.
It was their safe haven, they were not ‘pushing their sexuality’ onto anyone, it was their space. Their space was invaded by hate.
"The whole world should be their safe haven, they settled for one building. We couldn’t even give them one safe place to be themselves.
They were punished for being queer, like any of us would choose to be apart of a community that is targeted for simply loving.
